I had to drive through rush hour traffic this morning to be at TV Fox 19 by 9:00 am to promote my new book “Blurring The Lines”. The show began at 9:00 am .Of course I left early,so I would have plenty of time to get there…well I thought I had plenty of time .
It was 8:35 and I was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic that was not moving on I-75 on the Kentucky side. I still had to cross the river and get to 7th street in Cincinnati by 9:00 am.There was no way this traffic was going to start moving, there was no way I would be there on time.
I asked myself,”should I just stay in my lane obey the rules and miss out on the interview?” I thought for a moment and then moved my car to the right inching my way into the far right lane. I think we give up way before we need to on any task. I broke the rules! I drove on the right edge off the road ,crossed over the lane that was coming onto the interstate at Buttermilk Pike. This lane was empty because no one was coming into this mess. I made a hard right turn and went to Dixie Hyw. I got there at 8:55 am .Sometimes you got to make your own rules.
