3 Steps to Developing a Structured Plan for Self Discovery

3 Steps to Developing a Structured Plan for Self Discovery

Have you had a desire to unlock the power of knowledge and love within yourself?

Have you had a desire to find inner peace and  live life to the fullest ?

Here Are 3 Steps That Will Help in Your Self Discovery.

Step 1-Desire

Where Focus Goes Energy Flows.

You can focus on the past vs. the future .Whatever you decide to focus on will determine the outcome of your efforts.

What is the desire of your heart? If you don’t have a strong desire to begin the journey you should stop here.

The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to live out their desires.

There is a substantial difference in being interested in something and being committed to it. Statements such as “I’d really like to make more money” or “I’d like to make a difference” or “I’d like to be closer to my kids,” or “I’d like to give up smoking,” are not enough to make your desire come into reality.

These words are  just stating a preference. These statements are very weak and hold no power. The power comes when you decide to be committed.

A Pig and a Chicken are walking down the road.

The Chicken says, “Hey Pig, I was thinking we should open a restaurant!”.

Pig replies, “Hmm, maybe, what would we call it?”

The Chicken responds, “How about ‘ham-n-eggs’?”

The Pig thinks for a moment and says, “No thanks. I’d be committed, but you’d only be involved!

The word ‘decision’ in reality comes from the Latin root meaning to ‘cut off from’ Making a true decision means committing to achieving a result and then cutting yourself off from any other possibility.

Many times we lose our focus, or experience disappointments that  makes us settle for less.

Do you ever tell yourself you don’t deserve the desires of our heart?

We not need to settle for less.

If you follow your desire, it will bring you enthusiasm and a passion to  discover your true self.

What is your desire? Write it down, make it concrete.

Be honest with yourself. What has stopped you from following your desire?

Write down the excuses  or reasons you have told yourself you don’t deserve to fulfill your desire.

Write them down now.

The Second Step is Critical for Structured Self Improvment

Step 2-Perspire

Someone once said, “People who are successful will tell you that accomplishing their goal was   80% perseverance and 20% talent.”

When I first got married ,my wife had two children. I have never been married before. I entered into a blended family. It was my deepest desire to have a wonderful healthy marriage. The first couple of years were rough. I didn’t know how to be a parent to girls in their teen years. I did not know how to be a good husband. No one had ever taught me these skills.

If we had not  gone to counseling in the second year of our marriage , we would never had made it  28 years into a wonderful relationship.

It took hard work, a willingness to learn and change some of my understandings of what it meant to be in a marriage.

I’m telling this story to say, nothing comes easy. It takes a commitment and willingness to learn new skills.

Read as much as you can on your desire, find a mentor, go to workshops.

Do whatever you need to do to help overcome the roadblocks that have stopped you from making your desire come into reality.

Surpass your prior expectation, live beyond  the beliefs that have limited you before.

Become aware of your expectations, believe today you will take a step to fulfilling your desire.

Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life. John Homer Miller

No compromising ,don’t settle. If you want greatness expect it, live into it.

Conceive it, believe it, and achieve it.

Stay connected .We need to be connected to the God of life, to people who will encourage us in our desire.

Don’t give up 5 minutes before the miracle.

The Third Step is Key to Completing Your Plan.

Step 3 Transpire

“So much of what happens in life begins and ends in our own mind.”

You need to be able to visualize the outcome of your desire. If you desire to be healthy, wealthy, or rich in spirit, what would it look like if you achieved your goal?

Here is a great exercise. Get a piece of paper and answer these questions.

See the qualities of the goal.

Visualize the fulfillment of your desire.

Describe it in your mind, then write it down on paper.

What would it look like to have a rich inner life? Step into the image, memorize it, claim it, and believe you deserve it. See the benefits of the fulfillment of your desire. Give it sensory qualities.

If fulfillment had a size what size would it be?  If it was a color, a shape, a texture, a density, what would these qualities look and feel like?

Please take time to do this exercise. It might seem silly at first but I guarantee it will work wonders.

Believe it is possible .You have to conceive it and believe you deserve it.

Be connected to the spiritual energy that will help it transpire.

Think back on great things that happened when you really believed you could accomplish your goal.
How did it feel? What did you do to reach your goal? What was your level of confidence when you finished?

How did you accomplish it?  Write your answers on paper.

Capture that same intensity and confidence as you live out your desire.

If you live in that same intensity and confidence nothing can stop you from reaching your desire.

Here is a wonderful poem that captures everything we have talked about today.

by Michael Sage

Your mind at peace – lazing around a crackling campfire, Deep within – a thought of something to which you aspire. The dawning of a new idea – you feel the spark of a little fire, Growing bigger day by day – until it’s a fully-fledged desire. Stoke the coals within – let the flames engulf you like wildfire, Keep on stoking – never allow the flames of desire to expire. Seek what you need – don’t be shy to ask for help or to enquire, For lack of information – can force your pursuit to misfire. Sink your teeth into your desire – like a unforgiving bloodthirsty vampire, Exercise your brains – allow your dendrons to rewire. Mull your mind – work it hard – allow it to perspire, While gathering information – which you need and must acquire. Times will come that will be tough – like treading through a soggy quagmire, Persistence is the thing – which you will then most require. Dream stealers will attempt to hold you back – hoping your ideas will backfire, Believe in yourself – unwaveringly – and stick with people that inspire. You’ll be amazed at what you can achieve – and what will transpire, The end result – your pride and joy – for all and sundry to admire. The castles you’ve built – the dynasty you’ve created – what an empire, The completion of your task – before you lay down and retire.oes here

 Desire , Perspire, Transpire.

Be a Miracle
